Mr. Saddam? I got a Nuke for thee

Never, ever, in my life have I been able to experience the element of “patience” in computer games… When I was supposed to do sneaky stuff, creeping here and there in the shadows snuffing people when they least expect it, out whipped my double handguns ablazin’ literally tearing the place apart, thus earning me a reputably ranking as a “Mass Murderer” at the end of Hitman 2 missions… Well, can’t blame me though, as a hot-blooded 19-year old guy I’m as hot-blooded as I could get. =)

But, I’ve been playing Command and Conquer: Generals, the latest sequel to the C&C; series, for two days already, where, according to the tagline, “World leaders solve conflicts with words… .Words like: Scud Launcher… Carpet Bombing… and Tomahawk Missiles…” (DAMN I LURV the tagline!). And with my 1 Ghz notebook paired with a 8mb ATI Radeon Mobilility (EIGHT MB! For God’s sake!!), my patience is seriously put to the test. Never have I seen in-game units literally walk (Nah… too fast… “crawl”.... er… no… “creep”.... nope… what’s the word ah? erm…) as slowly accros virtual terrain, but well, now I do. Never have I seen any strategy game that doesn’t come with a game speed modifier, but well, now I do. Nwever have I seen a game that so brutally denies a low-end computer user to set his graphic resolutions below 800×600, but now, well, you got the idea.

As the dojo masters in movies always say,” Be patient little grasshopper…” And so since insectoid I am, patient I must be, for as the love for good gaming prevails above all, not too mention that 17 bucks have long been forked over for the two CDs, therefore…. No more grumbling men, shaddup and let’s proceed to the next campaign in China where we’ll kick summore middle-Eastern terrorist butt.
